The Neurotic Parent grew up in a northeastern metropolis, where mostly everybody was anxiety-ridden. She received her BA and MA from a large, public university. Later, after living in a developing country, she dropped out of a PhD program in a fascinating, yet impractical area of study. After working as a college professor for four years, she managed to snag a job in the entertainment business, where she continues to work in order to afford her son's SAT tutor.
