They were home for a long, long time. But they have now returned to campus life, three time zones away. Some telltale signs that they have left the dwelling:
- Residents of home are awake during the day and asleep at night
- iPhone and Mac chargers remain in their places
- Car radio stays tuned to NPR rather than sports talk or hip hop
- Spotless living room
- Silence
- Depressed dog
- Untouched leftover pizza in fridge
- Small, delicate loads of laundry
- Full night's sleep
- Credit card charge for car booting in different state

I don't know you, but I feel like you know me (except we don't have a dog and the car booting doesn't apply). All else is what's happening here tonight. And a bit of sadness too.

School time is the most important and golden time of our life. I still remember it and miss it. Thanks for sharing.

It's almost a haiku. For me, too many goodbyes...And can't the car booting charge happen whether they're home or not?

This sounds exactly like my mom and I, except I only checked out schools in pa. All of the rest is the same. I always brought home tons of laundry, borrowed my mom's chargers and computer plugs, and more takeout food was always ordered. This is great, thanks!
